I have been creative my whole life.

Ever since I could pick up a crayon I have been creating. I was a creative child who was content creating art for hours. My creative pursuits continued throughout school, from grade school through college. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art with a minor in Art History from Western Washington University in 2003. I majored in Mixed Media, which included drawing, painting, printmaking, and photography.

I worked within various industries after college which included banking, human resources, and business administration. These positions developed my skills in research, project management, having an attention-to-detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and empathy. Outside of work, I continued my creative pursuits in doing art on commission as well as for my own enjoyment.

I always had a desire to learn design.

I decided to pursue a career in UX/UI design in 2016 by enrolling in Designlab's UX Academy, a 560-hour intensive design boot camp, where I gained core UX/UI design skills as well as learned how to communicate about design. The project-based curriculum, split into two phases, included a unique blend of hands-on work, structured mentorship from top designers, group critique sessions, and mock interviews. Phase One - Practicum included an introduction to UX design and took me through the UX design process from user research to testing and implementation. In Phase Two - Capstones, I completed three independent Capstone projects in a rapid prototyping fashion, incorporating all of my learning from Phase One. Each project encompassed the entire design thinking process and had its own unique design objectives and goals.

I have designed many different user experiences.

I have had the opportunity to do UX/UI design within many different industries, which has given me depth and breadth of experience. I have worked as a freelance UX/UI designer on a few projects, been a UI designer on iOS and Android mobile applications within the automotive industry, and worked as a UX Designer on supply chain issue management, analytics, and marketing applications within the pharmaceutical industry. Currently, I work as a UX designer within the healthcare space, designing new and returning patient onboarding and scheduling experiences.

I find joy in my family.

I am a married mama of two little ones, who are my pride and joy. When I am not creating, I enjoy spending time with them, my husband, our friends and extended families. I am also a lover of horses and hope to own one one day; it has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl.
