My Role

As the lead UX Designer for the platform's desktop and mobile login experience, I managed the design process from requirements analysis through implementation support. My responsibilities included functional specifications, UX/UI design, prototyping, and QA collaboration.

Working within the existing design system, I partnered with cross-functional stakeholders to validate requirements, refine solutions, and support development through implementation, helping ensure a seamless and consistent authentication experience across devices.

User Journeys & Workflows

I designed the end-to-end authentication experience for desktop and mobile, including account registration, login, MFA, password recovery, and account maintenance workflows.

To ensure a seamless experience, I also designed error-handling scenarios such as expired sessions, invalid codes, and expired activation links, as well as supporting email communications for account verification, password resets, and existing-account notifications.

Reflections & Learnings

While the login experience appeared simple on the surface, it required careful consideration of numerous edge cases, error states, and recovery scenarios. Designing for security, usability, and compliance demanded close collaboration with security, development, program management, technical communications, and QA teams.

The project deepened my understanding of authentication systems and reinforced the importance of designing beyond the happy path. It also highlighted how many complex backend processes must work together to deliver a seamless and secure user experience.
